Hello! I’m Fatima Bin Musaed And welcome to a new episode of Short Meditations Short Meditations We talk today about something helps us be better and it is Happiness. Happiness is not something you should look for. The more you try to strive for happiness, the more often you remind yourself that you cannot be happy in your life. Let me ask you a question Does a happy person need to look at themselves in the mirror and say they are happy? No During the last few years of my academic life, I thought happiness came from getting those high grades. Buy a new camera and lens or travel. This is not the truth. One: Stop negative thinking Negative thinking will never give you a positive life. Stop saying sentences that limit self-defeat, such as “I can’t do it” but say, “How do I do it?” Do not believe everything you think. Negative and pessimistic thinking is not helpful and will discourage you from achieving your goals and self-confidence. Replace negative thoughts with positive and motivating ones. At first, it can be difficult, but the more you send positive messages over and over to your mind, the better and happier you feel. Two: Stop comparing yourself to other people It’s usually very unhealthy, but even the most trusted people do it: comparison. We all do it. Because we are human, but constant comparison with others makes you feel bad about yourself and reduces your self-esteem. Life is not competition. If you make it so, no one will win. It’s always a losing battle because the only person who hurts is ultimately yourself. Stop comparing and be happy in your life. Finally: Be grateful Gratitude is an attitude and way of life Now you have the freedom to choose to be happy or unhappy. What to choose now? I chose to be happy. And I am telling you that I am grateful to you, grateful for your follow-up, grateful for every comment or message I receive, I wish you an entire week of happiness and gratitude.
